A Rich History

Dating Back to 1903

The Mazowe Mine’s history dates back to 1903 with the formation of Jumbo Gold Mining Company, which established significant underground workings and milling infrastructure. Over the decades, ownership transitioned through several companies with notable production periods under Lonrho Zimbabwe, Independence Gold Mining, and Busia Mining Company (BMC). We acquired the Mazowe Mine in 2024, to prepare it for its next stage of production.

Upcoming Advancements

Namib Minerals is advancing a Feasibility Study for Mazowe Mine’s restart, targeting site and infrastructure upgrades for efficient, scalable production. With disciplined capital allocation and sustainability measures, the restart will enhance our operational platform and deepen community partnerships in the region.
